Hats by Sarah
Hello! Thanks for visiting Hats By Sarah (a.k.a. Moore Hats for Kids). A few years ago my mom Margie and I started knitting these colorful baby hats for our expectant family members and friends. They were such a huge hit that in 1995, we decided to start selling them. I hope this page gives you an idea of what a fun gift these hats can be. Details on how to order are below.
The baby hats can be made to look like a variety of fruits and vegetables. In addition to the ever-popular strawberries shown above, here's a sampling of some other favorites:

HAT SPECIFICS AND ORDERING DETAILS:
| The hats are $20 each. |
| Each hat is hand knit of soft, machine washable wool. If you prefer, they can be made of cotton upon request. |
| Typical turnaround time is 1-2 weeks per hat for newborn to 2-year-old sizes. |
| The hats can also be made in older kids' or adult sizes upon request. These hats are $24 each and take about a week longer on average. |
| Special and/or more complicated designs (such as the pineapple above) are $24 each and usually take up to 3 weeks. |

About the artist: Well, let's see. I'm 30 years old and have been knitting in my spare time for about 5 or 6 years now. My mom and my good friend Diane (neither of whom have entered cyberspace yet, otherwise I'd encourage you to email them) taught me how. I've knit a few sweaters for myself but have mostly stuck to smaller projects such as these hats, which take me on average about the length of 1-2 baseball games to make. (Happily, I've discovered in the past 3 years or so that baseball and knitting complement each other extremely well.) |
